Laura is an award-winning soil scientist with 30 years of experience working as a researcher, policymaker, educator, activist, and farmer.


The book takes a farmer-centric approach, sharing the real life stories of over 40 diverse producers across the country on what they are doing, how they are doing it, and why. Lengnick step back to provide information on the history of our food system and supply chain in the US and what needs to be considered as we thinking about adaptive management today and in the future.
