Central Virginia Crops Expo returning for second year in 2023!

Virginia Cooperative Extension is hosting the Central Virginia Crops Expo for a second year on Friday, August 11th. The event will be held on-farm at 1838 Hat Creek Road; Brookneal, VA in Campbell County. The program will begin at 8:30 AM, include a lunch sponsored by Virginia Farm Bureau and conclude early afternoon. A trade show will run concurrently with the program. The Expo will offer Virginia private pesticide applicator recertification credit, Virginia Nutrient Management credits and also Certified Crop Advisor CEUs in Nutrient Management: 1; Soil & Water Management: 0.5; Crop Management: 1; Professional Development: 0.5; and Sustainability: 1.


Virginia Farm Bureau Grain Division staff Josey Moore and Robert Harper will provide a grain market update. Lydia Fitzgerald will showcase a soil health demonstration entitled “Soil Your Undies” and discuss adaptive management strategies for N management in corn. Virginia Extension Specialists will lead soybean and corn plot field walks along with research updates. A roundtable discussion focused on advanced nutrient management will include perspectives from producers, VCE Specialists, and industry agronomists.
